Welcome to my blog

My name is Are Taraldsen. In 2010, at the age of 39,
I was diagnosed with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as
Lou Gehrig’s disease or motor neurone disease. ALS is a rare neurological
disease that gradually destroys nerve cells and causes disability. It is
progressive, which means that my condition deteriorates over time.
This news has had a profound effect not only on me, but also on my wife
Yuki and two young daughters. In 2014 I underwent an elective tracheostomy
and had to leave my family and home and move to a nursing home.
I hope you will take the time to watch the documentaries about my
story by clicking on the links below.
